A pre-WoF check is a look over the common failure points before your inspection. It takes far less time than a full service and means you walk into the inspection knowing where you stand. For older vehicles and high-kilometre imports it usually pays for itself.

How long do I have to fix a failed WoF?
You generally have 28 days from the original inspection to have the faults repaired and the vehicle rechecked. Leave it longer and you may need a full new inspection.
Can I drive my car if it failed its WoF?
It depends on the fault. Some vehicles can be driven directly to a repairer or an inspection; some cannot be driven at all. Check the sheet and, if in doubt, call us on 027 786 3135 before driving it.
How often does my car need a WoF in New Zealand?
Vehicles first registered anywhere in the world on or after 1 January 2000 generally need a WoF annually. Older vehicles need one every six months. New vehicles have a longer initial period. Check your current sheet for your exact due date.
